Matt's Legacy
Matt was a hero to a lot of people. His neice loved him so much, when she was 6 years old she said she was going to marry him when she got older. ;-) She said that God sent her an angel to tell her that he needed a stronger angel so he picked Matt cause he was the strongest angel he could find. I believe that is true. He is an angel to all of us now. He watches over us all the time now. When Matt passed, he wanted to be an organ donor. He saved many lives. His death meant life for others. I think that was God's purpose for taking him at such a tender young age. He was 17 at the time of his death. His Liver recipient is Amanda. A very sweet woman who has 3 children and 9 grand-children. They now have her to enjoy for a while longer yet. His Kidney and Pancreas fixed a man named keith. He is no longer a diabetic, and he is healthy. His heart recipient was a man that got to enjoy his family for an extra year before he passed from other reasons then his heart. His family said they were very greatful for the heart, because they got to keep him for a while longer than they would have have if it weren't for Matt. We haven't heard from the other recipients yet, But the foundation tells us that they are healthy and doing good and very thankful for the gift of life they recieved. He was a very healthy and strong young man that had lots of plans for his future. They just didn't match God's plans for his future. He was taken from us way to soon as far as I am concerned. He was my baby boy. He was always loved by everyone whoever met him, and he is still loved by all of those who ever knew him. His name lives on in our family. His sister-in-law is having a baby boy any time now and she is naming him Matthew Dean after our Matt. I think that is just wonderful. I love you Matt, and Miss you so much. I pray everyday that I will get to see you again some day. Keep up the good work that God gives you to do. And prepare a place for the rest of us for when we get there too. Love you always and forever...Mom
